About me
My name is Kaitlyn Zofcin. I am a graduate from the school psychology M.A./C.A.G.S program at the William James College, formerly Massachusetts
School of Professional Psychology, in Newton, Massachusetts. As part of my
course of study, I completed my third year internship in the
Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District in Bridgewater, New Jersey (5-6, some K-4, some high school). During
my first years at William James College I completed practicum placements at Fisher
Elementary School in Walpole, Massachusetts (K-5), and F.A. Day Middle School in Newton, Massachusetts (6-8). In August 2013, I earned my Master of
Arts in Professional Psychology.
Prior to enrolling at William James College in the school psychology graduate program, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an Education minor at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. During my program of study I completed a wide range of courses in both psychology and education. I was able to gain educational field-work experience in school systems in the area. I worked as a research assistant on a study of personality traits and the effect of hypnosis and cognitive behavioral therapy on pain treatment. I also had experience tutoring children in the Hartford area. Through my coursework at William James College, I have been able to gain experience completing psychoeducational evaluations; providing individual and group counseling services; designing, implementing and evaluating interventions; as well as consulting with teachers and student services support staff. I also had the opportunity to complete research in school-based mindfulness practice at my first year site placement. Due to my experiences I have gained a desire for a professional focus in mindfulness based therapy and cognitive behavioral interventions for students. During my free time I enjoy being outdoors, canoeing, reading, cooking, going for walks with my dog, catching up with friends, and yoga. I currently live in Linden, New Jersey. |
